Robert Jackson
Received his doctorate in 1988 from the University of California, Berkeley, and currently teaches at SUNY College at Oneonta. His research interests include the Andean region and Mexico. He has authored/edited eight books and more than 40 journal articles. His books dealing with the Andean region include Regional Markets and Agrarian Transformation in Bolivia: Cochabamba, 1539-1961 (1994); Liberals, the
Church, and Indian Peasants, an edited volume (1997); and Race, Caste, and Status: Indians in Colonial Spanish America (1999). Jackson's current interests include the drug economy in Latin America, and Mexico's Cristero uprising.
